Marc Newson
Particularly obsessed with symmetry at the time, Marc conceived an element that pierced through the base and the top shade without seeming to touch the sides of the hole; on the top the ring of light shines down through it, whereas the base has the look of a deep black hole.
Helice lamp
The 3 main parts are linked together with a metal cable fixed on top and bottom.
The body parts are not moulded , but made by crafmanship turning aluminium.
