The Qantas chair is part of a project build for Qantas lounge airport in Sydney.
Marc Newson was hired as art director of Qantas, and was asked to design business class lounge in Sydney and Melbourne.
The Qantas chair is based on a previous design, build for the Lever House restaurant in New York, in 2002.
The design was updated, with an massive oak frame with brown leather. The craftmanship needed for this chair is very complex, and a few chairs were build, edited by Cappellini.
