The Sine chair was designed with the initial intention to make a Embryo chair.
The first version was with 3 feet, on an aluminium frame, was prototyped by Idee, Japan in 1988, but the production was never launched.
Later proposed to be edited by Cappellini, in 1990, Marc Newson made adjustments with editor to provide a functional chair.
The Sine chair available is an editor try, based on Newson based wishes. The frame is in aluminium, 3 feet, and with a fiber glass glossy paint.
The aluminium frame was abandonned for a new metal frame. And due to the instability of the 3 feet structure, the production version has 4 feets in steel. The backrest and seat were build with wood and foam/wool or leather cover.
